RLCC is a non-profit organisation that has been empowering artisans since 1954.

Panchi is an exclusive brand by RLCC showcasing the diverse, artisanal, and eco-friendly products handmade with love by the craftswomen in Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi.

The aim of the brand is to support the livelihoods of the craftswomen, foster design intervention & artistic collaboration, promote sustainability and preserve traditional crafts.

Panchi designs are inspired by birds, their features, their habitat and any elements that exist within the surrounding of birds as they are the symbols of flight, freedom and hope.

‘Panchi’ is an urdu word which means ‘birds’

Meet Ambreen, our artisan extraordinaire, whose skilled hands weave magic from khajoor—palm leaves.With over six years of dedication to Panchi Crafts by RLCC, she has become a beacon of resilience and creativity. Beyond her craft, Ambreen is a devoted mother of four, striving tirelessly to support her family alongside her husband. Her work is more than a livelihood; it’s a testament to her vision for a sustainable future. Through her eco-friendly creations, Ambreen not only nurtures her family's dreams but also contributes to reducing carbon footprints, paving the way for a greener, brighter tomorrow for her community and homeland.

Marjaan Bibi

Meet Marjaan Bibi, the gifted artisan behind our stunning Khajoor with Tilla creations. Residing in Natha Khan Goth, Marjaan exemplifies resilience and determination. Rather than sitting idle, she chooses to dedicate her time to meaningful work, believing in the value of productivity. With her husband’s income falling short of meeting their family’s needs, Marjaan stepped up to provide financial support, ensuring her children have access to education. Her earnings from Panchi Crafts go toward covering their school and tuition fees, paving the way for a brighter future.A devoted mother to two daughters and a son, Marjaan has always been passionate about sewing, a skill she honed from a young age. Since joining Panchi Crafts, her talent has flourished, allowing her to create intricate and beautiful works of art. Inspired by her mother’s journey, Marjaan’s eldest daughter has also enrolled in a one-year sewing and stitching course at the Vocational Department of RLCC. Today, she works alongside her mother as an artisan, continuing the family tradition of craftsmanship and contributing to their shared dream of a better tomorrow.

Fatima

Meet Fatima, a dedicated and highly skilled artisan who has been a valued member of our community for the past seven years. Over the years, she has honed her craft and become an expert in creating intricate full tilla products, showcasing her remarkable talent and attention to detail. Fatima not only takes pride in her work but also plays a pivotal role in supporting her family. Alongside her husband, she is actively involved in raising their three children, balancing her responsibilities at home with her passion for her craft. Her dedication to both her family and her work is truly inspiring, and she loves being a part of our team, where she continues to grow and contribute to the success of our collective efforts.

Faiza Amaan

Faiza Amaan's journey with RLCC began a decade ago, sparked by watching her older sisters create coiled paper crafts. She started by making paper coiled items, finding joy in the creative process, but her path took a significant turn in 2020 when she received handloom training from RLCC, opening the door to crafting beautiful handloom products. Working at Panchi Crafts by RLCC has brought Faiza immense passion and fulfillment, and even when illness keeps her away, she feels a strong desire to return. Her time at RLCC has not only sharpened her skills but has also transformed her confidence, helping her believe in herself and her abilities. Today, Faiza is able to support both herself and her family, and as she prepares for her upcoming marriage, she takes pride in the financial independence her work has provided. Her story is one of empowerment, transformation, and the profound impact RLCC has had on her life.
